    Chicago Gun Ban Goes Before Supreme Court

    This week, Chicago's handgun ban will be challenged in the U.S. Supreme Court. The city of Chicago first banned possession of handguns in 1982. Now, groups like Second Amendment Foundation have appealed court decisions in favor of the ban all the way to the Supreme Court. Kristin A. Goss is an expert on gun control issues and an assistant professor of public policy studies and political science at Duke University. She authored Disarmed: The Missing Movement for Gun Control in America (Princeton University Press, 2006) and is published in The Chronicle of Philanthropy, The Chronicle of Higher Education, and Raleigh News & Observer.
